Project Details

The Project is located at 16th Street & Ridley Circle to the Monitor Merrimac Overlook Park. Work is located on 16th Street from Ridley Circle to Rolfe Place and from Roanoke Avenue to Anderson Park. Work is location on 15th Street from Rolfe Place to Roanoke Avenue. All work is within the City of Newport News.

The work consists of installing approximately 7,281 linear feet of 36-inch force main (6,508 linear feet of DIP, 773 linear feet of HDPE) along 15th Street and 16th Street. Limits of pipe installation is from the existing 36-inch HRSD Force Main at 16th Street and Ridley Circle to the existing 36-inch HRSD Force Main at the Monitor Merrimac Overlook Park. Horizontal Direction Drilling will occur using HDPE pipe under Salters Creek (from Anderson Park to Monitor Merrimac Overlook Park). The work also includes furnishing and installing pipelines, utilities, associated appurtenances, and all associated work to accomplish this project. Additional work includes rehabilitating or replacing storm drain pipes, water service connections, and sewer laterals that cross perpendicular over the 36 inch ductile force main, using flowable fill to abandon in place existing force main, rehabilitating several gravity sanitary sewers by means of Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP), and installing 54 linear feet of 8 inch gravity main and one gravity sewer manhole.



As a responsible contractor, we will aggressively pursue MBE, WBE & Small Business participation in excess of the minimal requirements. If needed, we will break down or combine elements of work into feasible units or smaller task/quantities and negotiate in Good Faith in order to facilitate MBE, SDV, WBE & Small Business participation. If the bonding, letter of credit or insurance requirements set forth in the bid documents would otherwise prevent you from soliciting a quote, please contact us and we will discuss ways that we may be able to help you meet these requirements. Likewise, if you are discouraged from submitting a quote on this project because you think you may have trouble obtaining the necessary equipment, supplies, materials, or any other related assistance or services that may be necessary to complete the work, please contact us and we will discuss ways that we may be able to help you overcome these obstacles.
