New Hampshire DBE program

The goal of the New Hampshire Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program is to ensure nondiscrimination in the awarding of contracts for which US Department of Transportation (USDOT) funding exists. Benefits of being certified as a DBE by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) include listing in the online directory of DBEs, and various sorts of notifications relating to upcoming projects, as well as being counted towards the participation goal on federally funded projects, if prime contractors make a good faith effort to reach out to them.

Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? Out of state applicants must provide a copy of their home state DBE certification as well as using the interstate certification form provided by NHDOT.

Does this certification expire? A DBE must submit an annual no-change affidavit in order to retain certification.

Are there multiple agencies that offer this certification in the state? NHDOT is the sole certifiying agency for the New Hampshire Unified Certification Program.

Does this program require bidders attempt to make a good-faith effort to meet participation goals? Yes, bidders must make a good-faith effort to meet DBE participation goals attached to relevant NHDOT projects.
