Broward County Public Schools M/WBE program

The Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program for Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) defines a M/WBE as any business at least 51 percent owned and operated by any member of a number of enumerated minority groups or by a Caucasian woman or women.

When a business is certified as a M/WBE with BCPS, that certification is valid for 3 years from the date of issue unless revoked or suspended. Per the terms of the Supplier Diversity Outreach Program as adopted by the Broward County School Board, being certified gives M/WBEs (as well as small business enterprises) the chance to be counted towards specific utilization goals that primes are required to meet, as well as being scored in an incentive points methodology when bidding.
