Kansas MWBE program

Firms certified as minority and women businesses (MBE/WBE) certification from the State of Kansas can gain preferential access to state-funded projects. The state's Office of Minority and Women Business Development is in charge of certifying eligible MBE/WBEs. There are no costs associated with certification. In addition to certifying MBE/WBEs, the Office of Minority and Women Business Development certifies firms as disadvantaged business enterprises, which is a certification that provides preferential access to certain federally-funded contracts. All these certifications are provided under the rubric of the Kansas Statewide Certification Program.
