The California Department of General Services (DGS) is hosting a series of virtual public meetings, which may be accessed online, relating to their upcoming disparity study. The disparity study is being conducted to determine if minority-owned, woman-owned, LGBTQ-owned, certified small businesses, and disabled veteran-owned businesses have equitable access to state contracting opportunities, and, if not, what might be done to remedy any disparities. As part of the study, a variety of means of public engagement will be used, including these virtual meetings. Small and diverse businesses are encouraged to attend and to share their experiences of doing, or attempting to do, business with the state. Information shared at the meetings may form part of the basis on which the conclusions of the study rest.
