In October, the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) announced the selection of The Enterprise Center of Philadelphia, a non-profit organization, to serve as Small Business Transportation Resource Centers (SBTRCs) for the Mid-Atlantic Region.
The SBTRC will cover the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
SBTRCs help small firms interested in doing businesses with federal, state, and local government as prime contractors and subcontractors build the capacity to do so. The services they provide include business analysis and market research, management and technical assistance; business counseling; and loan and bond assistance.
Small businesses that are eligible to take advantage of SBTRC services are those certified as:
- 8(a) firms
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE)
- Women Owned Small Business (WOB)
- HubZone
- Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB)
- Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)
OSDBU has established 11 SBTRCs, covering all 50 states.
