LA Metro issues 3 yr DBE goal

The public comment period for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) proposed three-year Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Overall Goal is open until May 12.
For a three-year period from October 1, 2013 (Federal Fiscal Year 2013) through September 30, 2015 (Federal Fiscal Year 2015), Metro is proposing a 27% DBE goal, 6.11% of which will be achieved through race- and gender-neutral measures and 20.89% through race- and gender-conscious measures.
The triennial goal is established to achieve a "level playing field" for DBE's to participate in Metro's FTA-assisted contracting opportunities, in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation DBE Program Final Rule, 49 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 26.
