Construction training sessions for North Carolina HUBs

Beginning in March, North Carolina construction companies certified as Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) will have an opportunity to learn about succeeding in the public contracting market from some of the industry's leading companies.
From 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays between March 11 and May 27, the North Carolina Department of Administration Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses will host a twelve session Contractors College that will cover topics including:
- Prequalification, bonding, and insurance;
- Estimating, bidding and purchasing skills;
- Project scheduling;
- Contracts, law, and ethics; and
- Leed certification.
General contractors that will take part in the sessions include Turner, Skanska, Lend Lease, and Balfour Beatty Construction.
Seating is limited and registration is required. To be eligible for enrollment, contractors must have been in business for a minimum of three years in addition to possessing HUB certification.
The College costs $100 to attend and will take place at North Carolina Central University in Durham.
