ADOT seeking comments on DBE contracting goal
Published on 08/14/2014

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has opened the public comment period, which runs until September 17th, on its current goals for the inclusion of disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) firms on federally funded projects.

ADOT has proposed that 9.38 percent of federal money intended for highway contracts be awarded to DBE firms over the next three years. This is an increase from ADOT's current DBE goal on federally-funded contracts, which stands at 7.76 percent. ADOT plans to employ race neutral measures to fulfill 5.44 percent of the goal and race-conscious measures for the remaining 3.94 percent.

During the comment period, ADOT wants women and minority business owners and organizations, contractors, engineering consultants and other interested stakeholders to comment on the proposed goal. All those wishing to comment should attend one of the public hearings being held across the state, comment online at adotdbestudy.com, email their comments to info@adotdbestudy.com or mail their comments to Keen Independent Research, 172 N. Washington Street, Wickenburg, AZ 85390 to be received before the September 17th deadline.
