The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will be awarding contracts funded by the Federal Transit Administration over the next three years, and as a result is establishing a triennial disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) goal.
For Fiscal Years 2018-2020, SEPTA is planning to award 15 percent of it's contracts to certified DBEs. The Authority intends to meet 11 percent of this goal by applying DBE subcontracting goals on individual contracts that prime contractors will be required to make an effort to achieve.
The remaining 4 percent of the goal will be achieved through race-neutral means, including sending monthly emails to certified DBEs about upcoming projects and hosting contracting seminars in the Philadelphia area.
