New Orleans M/WBE disparity study meetings scheduled
Published on 09/28/2017

Two public meetings regarding the City of New Orleans 2017 Disparity Study will be held at the beginning of October and the public - and minority- and women-owned firms (M/WBEs) in particlar - is invited to provide feedback regarding their experiences in city procurement.

The study is examining whether M/WBEs in the New Orleans area are received a fair shot at taking part in city construction, professional services, goods and other service contracts awarded from 2012 through 2016. It will analyze not only M/WBE utilization and availability, but also market conditions and the state of assistance programs run by the relevant agencies to help improve the participation levels of M/WBEs in city contracting.

The public meetings will be held on October 5th at the University of New Orleans. Individuals interested in attending the meetings can learn more at www.noladisparitystudy.com. The website also lists additional contact methods for members of the public that are unable to attend the meetings.

The final report is expected to be published in February of 2018.
