DBEs, general public invited to Santa Maria City Transit Division meeting
Published on 05/07/2018

The City of Santa Maria Transit Division, which uses federal dollars to operate public bus services in the area, is inviting the public to attend a meeting about it's disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) program on June 5th.

As a recipient of federal funding, the Transit Division is required to set an overall DBE participation goal every three years for contract expenditures supported by the Federal Transit Administration. For the Fiscal Years of 2019, 2020, and 2021, the Transit Division is proposing a DBE goal of zero percent.

At the meeting, Santa Maria Area Transit will be on hand to receiving public feedback, regardless of whether attendees are certified DBEs, existing public transportation vendors, or members of the community in general.

The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Santa Maria Public Library's Shepard Hall, 421 S. McClelland Street.
