E-J Electric in Long Island, New York, has been awarded the contract for electrical infrastructure work on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) 3rd Track Expansion Project from Floral Park to Hicksville, a $1.2 billion project. The introduction of a new third track for LIRR will eliminate seven dangerous grade crossings, reduce traffic congestion and train delays, and enhance the quality-of-life for communities along the Main Line. Major project elements include new parking facilities, upgrades to railroad infrastructure and passenger rail stations, and other local improvements.
