WETA/San Francisco Bay Ferry to hold DBE teleconference on 2019 Vessel Construction Project
Published on 08/21/2019

The Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) and San Francisco Bay Ferry jointly held a webinar recently, on August 20th, 2019, on a vessel construction project expected to begin late 2019 or early 2020. The project will recieve funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and is for a passenger catamaran with a 300-passenger capacity which will provide regular ferry service on a number of routes in the San Francisco Bay.

San Francisco Bay Ferry is currently in the process of reaching out to Community Based Organizations that may have information concerning the availability of disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged businesses, the effects of discrimination on opportunities for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), and agency efforts to establish a level playing field. They are also seeking public input on the methodology and goal for WETA’s 2019 vessel construction project (the catamaran as mentioned above). For those who were unaware of or who were unable to attend the August 20th webinar, there will be an additional teleconference meeting on Wednesday, August 28, at 11:30 AM (Pacific Standard Time), to provide an overview of the project, answer questions and receive input on the DBE goal for this project.

Please RSVP to Lauren Gularte at gularte@watertransit.org by 11:30 AM (PST) on August 27 to receive call-in information for the teleconference and a copy of the presentation that will be discussed.
