Caltrans District 5, along with state and local partners, will be hosting a series of webinars for small business owners starting on Thursday, May 7th, 2020. The webinar series offers a way for small businesses to still receive support and institutional advice during the COVID-19 crisis.
The webinars will be split into two series:
The SB/DVBE Certification Webinar Series: This series will provide an overview of the certification process for small business (SBE) and disabled veterans business (DVBE) owners. A facilitator from the Department of General Services (DGS) will provide guidance on registering on Cal eProcure, completing an application for certification. The Micro Business (MB) and Small Business for the purpose of Public Works (SB-PW) certifications will also be covered. The series will include four webinars and will begin on Thursday, May 7th of 2020 and end Thursday, May 21st of 2020.
The Contracting Webinar Series: This series will be more geared towards businesses that are already registered on Cal eProcure, and will cover a range of topics including contracting with state government, navigating websites and information on local supplier and contracting opportunities, and applying for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification in California. This series of webinars will begin on Friday, May 22nd of 2020, and end on Friday, May 29th of 2020.
