Disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs) will receive a leg up in contracting with Tampa International Airport (TPA), as TIA has just launched their new Business Diversity Management System (BDMS). The system serves as a portal that streamlines a number of functions DBEs need to follow through with in seeking procurement work from TPA.
BDMS will allow for a number of improvements on the current process, including: a paperless application process for DBEs and ACDBEs wishing to become certified, an online directory of DBEs with improved keyword search capabilities, and continuous certification and certification-update management through online profiles.
TPA is requesting not only all prospective DBEs and ACDBEs, but all current DBEs and ACDBEs doing business with the airport, to submit and complete all DBE/ACDBE documentation through BDMS.
"The BDMS will allow us to process information more quickly and will be more efficient and convenient for all users," said a TPS representative in a press release.
