Caltrans is hosting a lengthy series of professional development and outreach sessions in advance of its upcoming disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) Disparity Study, which is currently underway and the results of which are expected to be released by June of 2021. Feedback gathered during the course of the sessions will be used as part of the process by which Caltrans sets its new contract goals. They will offer attendees information on contract opportunities, tips on the process of doing business with Caltrans, sources of capital for small businesses, making the best of use pre-bid meetings, and more.
Two sessions are currently fully described with program details and registration links. The first session covers "Annual Budgeting" for businesses and will take place on October 8, 2020, from 11 AM to 1 PM. The second session covers "Certification Information" for businesses wishing to learn more about DBE certification and will take place on October 15, 2020, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Other sessions are planned but not yet detailed for later in October and November.
