Public meetings scheduled for proposed Caltrans DBE goals

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is inviting the public to attend meetings and provide input on the department's proposed disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) goals on projects funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for Fiscal Years 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2019, and 2018-2019.

The department's DBE participation goal for the Fiscal Years in question is 6.95 percent. Caltrans projects that it will be able to meet 4.0 percent of its DBE goal through race- and gender neutral measures, which includes hosting outreach and training events as well as providing technical assistance to DBEs. The remaining 2.95 percent will be achieved through the use of race- and gender-conscious, such as DBE contract goals.

The first meeting will be held in Sacramento from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdsay, April 29th at Paratransit, Inc., 2501 Florin Road. The second meeting will be in Los Angeles at the LA Metro Center, Union Station Room, One Gateway Plaza on Monday, May 4, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
