Delaware County is beginning the process of conducting a disparity study into the experiences of minority-owned, women-owned, and other diverse-owned businesses in competing for public contract work with the County. Should disparities in the utilization of such businesses relative to their availability be found, the study will also make recommendations of remedying that disparity.
The study will examine County contracting during the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2022, and is expected to be completed in June 2024. As part of the study process, the County will rely in part on feedback gathered from diverse-owned businesses on their experiences in doing, or attemping to do, business with the County.
Those with questions regarding the 2023 Delaware County disparity study are advised to get in touch with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office at supplierdiversity@co.delaware.pa.us. Businesses can also share their experiences of working in the local marketplace by emailing the study project team directly at DelawareCountyDS@miller3group.com. Any feedback submitted will inform the conclusions of the study and may be incorporated into the final study.
