New Jersey revises DVOB set-aside provisions
Published on 01/24/2024

Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey has signed into law a bill which revises the State's set-aside program for disabled-veteran-owned businesses (DVOBs). The set-aside program specifies at least three percent of state contracts must be set aside for DVOBs.

Previously, to be eligible for designation as a set-aside contract, a contract would have to have at least three DVOBs reasonably likely to bid on the contract and capable of performing or providing on it. The new legislation that has been passed into law changes that number to two such DVOBs.

"[T]his legislation will provide a much-needed boost to veteran-owned businesses striving to secure a foothold in our growing economy," said Governor Murphy in a statement.
