Prince William County to conduct disparity study
Published on 10/02/2024

The Prince William County Office of Procurement has announced that it will conduct a disparity study into its contracting procedures. The study will specifically examine women-owned, minority-owned, veteran-owned, and veteran service-disabled-owned businesses, to determine whether or not such businesses are underutilized by the County relative to their availability in the area.

The County is expected to conduct various forms of engagement and outreach as part of the study, in addition to quantitative evaluation of County contract data. The first first engagement session will take place virtually on Thursday, October 24, at 5 PM (link in press release below). There are currently further engagement sessions planned for January of 2025.

The study is currently expected to be concluded in July of 2025. Once it is delivered, the County will evaluate its recommendations for remedying any disparities that may be found.
