Last week, the Miami-Dade School Board reinstated the Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program, which is designed to help these businesses participate on Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) contracts.
The decision follows a disparity study comissioned by the Office of Economic Opportunity, which discovered that M/WBEs experienced significant disparities when it came to subcontracting with M-DCPS.
The first phase of the study has been implemented, and the details of phase two will be released in the coming weeks.
