SFMTA invites public to DBE disparity study meeting
Published on 02/15/2016

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is inviting the public to a final hearing for the agency's recently completed disparity study, which examines whether race or gender discrimination exists in the SFMTA's contracting practices.

Among the study's findings are statics that demonstrate that women and black-owned businesses in the construction sector are the most likely to suffer from underrepresentation in the SFMTA's award of contracts. The study, though, also that the agency does much better in awarding contracts equitably to Asian Pacific- and Hispanic-owned firms.

The final hearing will be held on February 23 from 4:00 p.m. To 5:30 p.m. at the SFMTA's Candlestick and Corona Heights Conference Rooms on the sixth floor at One South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco.
