Minorities left out of Ohio DOT contracting
Published on 05/05/2016

A new study commissioned by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has found that businesses owned by Asian, Hispanic, Black, and Native Americans are being left out of the Department's contracting process.

The report, which looked at disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) participation levels on all ODOT contracts award between 2010 and 2014, discovered that firms owned by white women and Subcontinent Asian Americans participated at higher than expected levels, however.

The findings will be used by ODOT to establish a triennial DBE goal for fiscal years 2017 through 2019. The goal and it's methodology will be published later this year.
