New York is set to unveil it's first statewide Mentor-Protégé program at the Sixth Annual MWBE Forum, which will be held on October 5th and 6th in Albany.
Through the program, participating minority- and women-owned businesses (MWBEs) will be partnered with prime contractors that will help their MWBE protégés develop the skills and experience necessary to do business with New York State.
In return for participating in the program, mentors will be eligible to receive bid preferences on state contracts and credit toward MWBE participation goals on state contracts.
The state is currently seeking businesses interested in becoming mentors and invites them to contact the Division of Minority and Women's Business Development at mwbebusinessdev@esd.ny.gov for more information.
