SBA announces $500,000 competition for VOSB, SDVOSB training programs
Published on 05/15/2017

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) plans to expand an existing program providing federal procurement entrepreneurship training to veteran-owned small businesses (VOSBs) and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSBs) through a $500,000 funding competition.

The training programs are available to VOSBs and SDVOSBs who are currently pursuing or intend to pursue federal contracts, and the intent of the program is to improve the capacity of such businesses to compete for - and win - federal contracts.

If selected, the awardee will receive a maximum of $500,000 annually for up to four years. The base period will be the first 12 months and will be followed by three option periods, also of 12 months each. The competition is open to non-profit or private sector organizations with a demonstrated history of providing the sort of training already provided in the existing entrepreneurship training program. Other relevant criteria will also be evaluated by the SBA.

A webinar on the funding opportunity will take place on May 24th, 2017. The due date for applications for the funding opportunity is June 8, 2017.

For further information on the webinar as well as on the funding opportunity itself, visit https://www.sba.gov/offices/headquarters/ovbd/resources/1573304.
