Arab American's seek MBDA disadvantaged business status

In January 2012 the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee submitted a petition to the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) for inclusion as a minority group that is socially or economically disadvantaged pursuant to 15 CFR art 1400. The MBDA has now published a notice requesting comments on the proposed action.
With designation as socially or economically disadvantaged group, Arab American-owned businesses will be able to access MBDA-funded resources and programs, including:
- Assistance with access to capital and finance management;
- Access to contracts;
- Access to markets; and
- Strategic business consulting.
