Essex County offers bonding readiness program

Essex County is inviting small, disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned businesses to register for its free Bonding Readiness Program.
The program, which will run from September 13, 2012 until November 1, 2012, aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain a bond, bond line, or an increase in their bonding limit.
Topics that will be addressed in the course include:
- Small business management;
- Accounting and financial management for construction;
- Small business banking and financing;
- Bonding readiness;
- Doing business with government;
- Project management;
- Claims and dispute resolution; and
- Managing growth.
Ideal candidates for the program should have at least two years of business experience, financial records covering profit and loss, a history of successful project experience, and a commitment to complete the program.
