Removal of Debris Accumulated Upstream of the Bar Racks at the Rondout Effluent Chamber

Scope of Work:
The Contractor will be required to remove all of the debris from the face or bar racks of the chamber to 100 feet upstream of the channel. Any sediment will remain in place. Prior to the removal of any debris, a pre-conditions video inspection must be taken of the bar racks and surrounding structure and be provided to the DEP Project Manager, or designee, to document the condition of both the bar racks and the structure at the Rondout Effluent Chamber. To avoid damage to the existing bar racks care must be taken to remove the debris that may be partially lodged into the bar racks. Divers will be required to inspect and dislodge and/or cut the debris free from the bar racks. All debris will be removed from the Site by the Contractor utilizing the launch site, staging area and access road shown on the launch site map and staging area map included as Attachments J and K in the Contract Documents. After all the debris is removed, a follow-up post conditions video inspection must be taken of the bar racks and surrounding structure and be provided to the DEP Project Manager, or designee. This is to show the condition of both the bar racks and the structure at the Rondout Effluent Chamber.

In order to perform this Work the Contractor will be responsible for, but is not limited to, the following items: erecting and dismantling a launch site and staging area; sediment and erosion controls; transportation, setup, removal and rental of equipment and materials; providing, installing and removing a turbidity curtain and an oil boom; debris removal equipment and operation; dive crew with decompression chamber and necessary tools; disposal of all debris; and Site restoration.

Anticipated Contract Start Date: Construction phase begins with the aqueduct shutdown in October 2022 (exact date to be determined upon award of the contract)
