Alstom Transport is a passenger rail vehicle and component manufacturer seeking firms currently certified as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in Chicago, IL USA to provide services or electronic/electric components as a 1st tier subcontractor on a project. The project is currently in the bidding phase and it consists of the design and the supply of a complete Video Recording System for 5000 and 3200 Series Rail Cars.
Certified firms should be capable to procure, store, and furnish a Video Recording System kit per car.
Each kit shall include:
- 9 cameras for the 5000-series
- 6 cameras for the 3200-series
- 1 Digital Video Recorder
- All the necessary cabling and hardware to ensure the proper functioning after installation
The total number of cars between 5000 and 3200 Series is 971.

Other services might include the electrical harnesses preparation, the transportation between the factory (within the US) and CTA’s site. The transportation will be spread over a period of approximately 4 years with deliveries each month.

Detailed specifications for the required components will be provided to interested and qualified firms for further evaluation after project award.

Qualified firms must be ISO certified and have the following or equivalent:
- Documented Quality Management System,
- Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy (in good standing with OSHA guidelines preferred),
- Business Insurance,
- Experience in Passenger or Freight rail industry.
