Archer Western is accepting bid proposals for Timpanogos Special Service District (TSSD) Package B (the Project), a wastewater treatment plant in American Fork, UT. Subcontractor and supplier proposals are due to Archer Western by Wednesday, Nov. 6 at noon.

This Project is anticipated to receive funding from the United States of America’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through the Water Infrastructure Finance Innovation Act (WIFIA). This project includes Build America, Buy America (BABA), Davis-Bacon Wages and American Iron & Steel (AIS).

The Project includes the following work:

1. A new Chemical Building to house chemical storage and feed systems:
a. Aluminum sulfate to precipitate soluble phosphorus. b. Sodium hypochlorite to maintain a chlorine residual in utility water and future reuse water.
2. A new Secondary Effluent Pump Station (SEPS) where new pumps will lift secondary effluent to a Rapid Mix Structure and to a downstream tertiary filtration unit process.
3. A new Filter Building where new cloth filters are used to filter secondary effluent for removal of total suspended solids (TSS), including precipitated phosphorus to meet anticipated water quality limits for dischargers to Utah Lake and to meet the State of Utah’s Class I reuse standard.
4. A new Disinfection Building that houses new ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment installed in 5 UV channels, complete with channel isolation gates and downstream weirs, and houses a new utility water pump station. This facility disinfects final effluent discharged to Utah Lake and final effluent used as utility water.
5. A new outfall structure, final effluent meter vault and outfall pipeline to Utah Lake that includes large diameter piping, final effluent meter vault, and outfall. A new Utah County trail will be constructed along Utah Lake, at the new outfall, and along the southern portion of the Owner’s fence line.
6. Repurposing of the existing UV Disinfection Facility and UW Pump Station, which includes some demolition and bypass pumping.
7. Medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including new duct bank, pad-mounted switchgear and transformers.
8. New yard piping, earthwork, driven piles, related civil site improvements and all related temporary work, including bypass pumping, dewatering, site security, stormwater and erosion control, field offices and safety measures during construction.
