The Manhattan Tunnel is a Design-Build project which consists of two separate parallel "mined" single track rail tunnels, from 50 feet west of the Manhattan Bulkhead.

Scopes of work, services, material, and equipment necessary for this project include but are not limited to: Ground Water Control, Furnish and/or Furnish and Install Cast-In-Place Concrete tunnel liner, Utilities (Water, Sewer, Gas), Utility Relocation, Traffic Control, Trucking, Paving, Fencing, Scheduling, Safety Monitoring, Inspections, QA/QC, Environmental & DBE Compliance, Demo, Furnish & Install Rebar, Concrete sidewalks, Shotcrete, Sawcutting, Masonry, Misc. Metals, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Tunnel Excavation, Tunnel Grouting, Asphalt, Landscaping and other trades typically associated with this type of work.

This project has DBE goals assigned to it. Gateway Tunnel Partners JV encourages and promotes the maximum MWDBE and SDVOB Participation possible on this and all of its Projects.
