The 2nd Ave Subway is a design-build project which will include partial demolition of existing sections of the tunnel, in addition to rehabilitation and modification of the existing portions of tunnel under 2nd Avenue. The work will include furnishing, installation, relocation, testing, and commissioning of all elements of the structural shell of the 116th Street Station. Twin running tunnels cut by TBM with cross passages will extend from 2nd Avenue to west of Lennox Ave to the new future airshaft. The work will include constructing a new 125th Street Station box under Park Ave and crossover caverns under 125th Street between 3rd Ave and west of Park Avenue. Additionally, the work will also include access shafts and new entrances.

This is a Federally Funded Project and has DBE goals assigned to it. Connect Plus Partners (Connect +) JV encourages and promotes the maximum MWDBE and SDVOB participation possible on this and all of its Projects.
