Project Details

The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and generally consists of
the following:


1. Construction of a new 37,360-square foot, 30-mgd firm capacity dissolved air
flotation and filtration (DAFF) water treatment plant facility, located on Purchase
Street in the Town of Harrison, New York.

2. The new facility will be located within the 13.4-acre project site. The new building
will be a multi-level reinforced concrete substructure with a steel superstructure to
support the roof. The multi-level facility will consist of five (5) general areas, as
shown on the General Arrangement Drawings, including:

a. Area-1: Containing the backwash tank and pumps, various chemical feed
and storage systems, HVAC systems, filter air scour systems.

b. Area-2: Containing filtered water tanks and pumps, floated solids buffer tank
and pumps, UV systems, DAF air compressors and saturators, DAF recycle
pumps, chemical feed and storage (Sodium Hydroxide), electrical room,
process analysis room, control room and SCADA room.

c. Area-3: Containing the residuals storage tanks and pumps, dewatering
systems and HVAC systems.

d. Area-4: Containing portion (2 trains) of DAFF system tanks/filters and
flocculators.

e. Area-5: Containing raw water piping, static mixers, and portion (5 trains) of
DAFF system tanks/filters.

3. The facility’s construction also includes significant site work, earthwork, stormwater
management, landscaping, process piping and valves, electrical work,
instrumentation and controls, heating and ventilating work, plumbing work, and
security/fire protection systems.

4. Demolition and decommissioning of the existing chemical systems located at the
Rye Lake Raw Water Pump Station.
