Project Details

We are seeking quotes from CUCP-certified DBE firms for the Bayshore Bikeway Segment 5 and Connections Project in National City. The scope includes electrical, paving, striping, storm drain, concrete flatwork, traffic signal installation, demolition, landscaping, fencing, irrigation, trucking, signage, and lighting. This federally funded project has a 22% DBE goal, is subject to Davis-Bacon wages, Caltrans LAPM, and the National City Project Labor Agreement. Only CUCP-certified DBEs performing a commercially useful function will be considered.



This is a public works project for the City of National City. Subcontractors must comply with all applicable requirements, including the submission of certified payroll records and compliance with California prevailing wage laws.

Subcontractor requirements include, but are not limited to:

Bonding: Payment and performance bonds may be required from subcontractors depending on the subcontract value or as specified in the bid documents.

Insurance: Subcontractors will be required to carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Minimum coverage limits must comply with the City's standard insurance requirements. Proof of insurance and endorsements must be provided prior to the start of work.

Union Requirements: This project is subject to state and/or federal prevailing wage laws. Union membership is not required, but all labor must be paid at prevailing wage rates.

Technical Requirements: Subcontractors must be licensed and experienced in the type of work they are bidding. Additional requirements may include safety plans, submittals, and conformance with Caltrans standards.
