Stalco is submitting a bid to the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for the Demolition & Construction of a Curing Room in Soil Testing Lab project and are seeking qualified NYS Certified MBE & WBE subcontractors to provide quotes

This project shall be administered under an Apprenticeship requirement and a minority requirement of 5% MBE & 7% WBE.

Scope of Work:
Demolition and Construction for a Curing Room in Soil Testing Lab (Commodity Code 90977). The new room will be installed indoors against 2 interior walls and in the same location as the existing room, therefore demolition and removal of the existing room along with temporary disconnection of existing utilities must be completed first. Due to space limitations, the new room cannot exceed the following exterior dimensions: 16' (length) x 12' (width) x 10' (height) with a minimum door width of 36" installed on the wall with the smaller dimension (approximately 12') set to open to the right. An existing tile floor with a drain will be utilized; therefore no flooring is needed. However, leveling of the existing floor may be needed due to a pitch in the floor for the drain and must be included with the installation costs. Interior dimensions must be able to accommodate the below-mentioned shelving racks with access to all shelves. The purchase and installation of the following items must also be included: Interior temperature recording device mounted on exterior wall. Thermostat controlled air temperature unit to maintain interior temperatures as specified in ASTM C511 specifications for moist rooms or approved equal. Humidity system with sanitizer and filters. Vapor Plus Humidity System with Trio-Breeze Sanitizer or an approved equal. Waterproof interior lighting. Thirty-two 4' wide heavy duty corrosion proof/resistant shelves in 4 shelf racks capable of handling a minimum of 750 pounds worth of 2" x 2" and 6" x 12" concrete specimens (standing vertically) per shelf along the interior walls of the room. The bottom shelf must be approximately 10" from the ground, minimum 14" spacing between each shelf and the top shelf not to exceed 66" in height. Stainless steel wire shelving racks with the following dimensions: 48" (width) x 18" (depth) x 66" (height) or approved equal. All electrical and plumbing fixtures and connections needed to complete the demolition, disposal and installation of above items to ASTM C511 specifications for moist rooms. Purchase of new corrosion resistant/proof curing room to include a minimum of two (2) LED waterproof lighting fixtures with outside switch near entry door. Please note, exterior dimensions NTE sixteen feet (16') in length, twelve feet (12') in width, and ten feet (10') in height.
