The Napa River / Napa Creek Flood Protection Project - Floodwalls North of the Bypass, is a flood control project that provides riverine flood protection for the City of Napa. The project is managed by the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District in cooperation with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The project is funded by Napa County Measure A (temporary sales tax, now ended) funds, Federal appropriations, and the State of California.
The total project proposes about 1.3 miles of floodwall including through public access using metal stop-log and swing gate openings. The project includes utility relocations, pipe penetrations through the floodwall, roadway and trail resurfacing, construction of a new public trail and flood control maintenance road, a new midblock pedestrian crossing at Lincoln Avenue, and other items as shown in the plans and described in the special provisions and standard specifications.
