Project Details

Dynamo Construction is bidding as the prime contractor on a wastewater treatment facility rehabilitation project involving the rehabilitation of Digester No. 3 and replacement of associated digester gas piping at an active treatment plant in Redwood City, California. Work generally consists of removal and replacement of process piping, valves, fittings, and digester gas management equipment; removal and application of high-performance industrial protective coatings on interior and exterior surfaces; removal and replacement of a coated foam roofing system on a steel digester cover; structural steel modifications to existing digester cover support brackets; installation of aluminum grating and support systems; concrete spot repairs; miscellaneous electrical and instrumentation improvements; and temporary construction services including scaffolding and dehumidification equipment operation.

We are specifically seeking quotes for protective coatings, industrial roofing, mechanical and process piping, pipe lining (spray-in-place), structural steel and metal framing, electrical and instrumentation, concrete repair, scaffolding, and material suppliers for pipe, valves, fittings, and digester gas equipment.

This project is funded in part through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) and is subject to DBE Good Faith Effort requirements under EPA guidelines. Dynamo Construction is committed to providing DBE-certified firms with equal opportunity to participate in this project and encourages quotes from all DBE-certified businesses. DBE certification may be obtained through the U.S. EPA, Small Business Administration, U.S. DOT State DBE Certification Program, tribal, state, or local government programs, or an independent private organization.



Contract documents for this project were prepared by Kennedy Jenks Consultants and are available for purchase through Barker Blue, located at 363 North Amphlett Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94401, telephone (650) 696-2100. Hard copy sets are available for approximately $90 and electronic copies are available for $35, both non-refundable. Mailing is available for an additional charge. Documents may also be inspected at the SVCW Secretary's Office, 1400 Radio Road, Redwood City, CA 94065. Partial sets are not available.

All subcontractors will be required to carry insurance at the same levels required of the prime contractor. Specifically, subcontractors must maintain Commercial General Liability insurance with limits of no less than $2,000,000 per occurrence and a $5,000,000 annual general aggregate, Automobile Liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 per accident, and Employer's Liability coverage of no less than $1,000,000 per accident. Workers' Compensation coverage is also required. Silicon Valley Clean Water, the cities of Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City, the West Bay Sanitary District, the Design Consultant, and the Construction Manager must all be named as additional insureds on subcontractor policies. All coverage must be primary and issued by a carrier licensed to do business in California. Certificates of insurance and endorsements must be submitted and approved before any work commences.

This project is subject to California and Federal prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act. All subcontractors must pay workers at no less than the applicable prevailing wage rate for their trade classification. Additionally, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 2600, all subcontractors must comply with the Skilled and Trained Workforce requirements as defined by the California Department of Industrial Relations.
