The Project is generally described as: The modernization of two buildings at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School. The Work includes, but is not limited to: Replacement of flooring systems, ceiling systems, fixed and operable sports equipment and telescoping bleachers, renovation of toilet rooms and locker rooms, replacement of mechanical, electrical, lighting, power, data and low voltage systems including audio-visual systems, fire protection systems, replacement of existing counter-weight rigging system at the auditorium stage, demolition of existing and installation of new partitions, doors, windows, and storefront systems, roofing systems including joint covers, casework, instrument cabinets, and various finishes and painting, both interior and exterior. Abatement of all hazardous materials in the area of work (see specifications) shall be performed under this contract.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Class B - General Contractor with Asbestos and Lead Certification or Sub-Contractor with Asbestos and Lead Certification performing the work.

PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT: Letter of Assent: All Bidders are hereby notified that the District has a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) in effect on the Project and all contractors and subcontractors bidding this project will be required to comply with the PLA. Certification of compliance with the PLA shall be confirmed via a signed Letter of Assent.

PRE-QUALIFICATION: All Bidders are hereby notified that this Project is subject to the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure. All Prime Contractors and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Subcontractors must be prequalified in order to bid on this project. No bids will be received or opened from Bidders who have not been pre-qualified through the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure. All Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Subcontractors listed by Bidders in Section 00 43 36 (Designated Subcontractor List) must be pre-qualified through the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure (including C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46). A bid will be non-responsive if any Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing Subcontractors are listed that have not been pre-qualified through the District's Pre-Qualification Procedure.

Contractors shall prequalify through PQ Bids at: https://go.pqbids.com/enroll-us. Applications must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled bid opening and must be approved at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled bid opening in order to qualify. Approval is valid for one (1) year from the date of notice of qualification, except as noted in prequalification documents.
