Vortex seeks sub-bids/quotes for Ramkabir PSH Project (RFP OPS 2026-006), 901 Union Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93307. Scope: rehabilitation of a 3-story building into 30 permanent supportive housing units including MEP upgrades, fire damage restoration, abatement, ADA improvements, seismic retrofit & site work. Trades: Abatement, Demolition, Framing, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Insulation, Windows/Doors, Drywall, Flooring, Painting, Cabinetry, Kitchenettes, Concrete, Seismic Retrofit, Fire/Life-Safety, ADA, Roofing, Paving, Landscaping, Security Systems & Site Security. This is a public works project subject to California State Prevailing Wages (Labor Code §1720 et seq.); all subcontractors must be currently registered with the California DIR (Labor Code §1725.5) and submit certified payroll. Union membership is not required. Subcontractors must hold an active, appropriate CSLB license in good standing. Insurance required: Commercial General Liability ($1M/occurrence), Automobile Liability ($1M/occurrence), and Workers' Compensation ($1M/occurrence), all naming CAPK and the City of Bakersfield as additional insureds; carrier must carry an AM Best rating of A:VII or better. Bonding required: 100% Payment Bond and 100% Performance Bond due prior to Notice to Proceed.
