Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District announces triennial DBE goals
Published on 07/19/2021

The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) has announced its triennial Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goals for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) assisted projects for fiscal years 2022 through 2024.

The figure has been set at 2.32 percent and is available for all California UCP-certified DBEs on a race-neutral basis. There is expected to be roughly $2.8 million in FTA-assisted funds that MTD will spend in 2022, with the a similar figure expected in 2023 and 2024. The goal was determined in part based on a census review and on California's DBE database, rather than on a formal disparity study.

MTD expects to meet the goal by means of several measures, including encouraging firms to apply for DBE certification, directing staff to participate in outreach opportunities, and more.

Those who wish to submit feedback on the goal may do so at https://sbmtd.gov/about/about-mtd/ or by emailing Steve Maas at smaas@sbmtd.gov.
